Hi.

Welcome to my running page. Firstly, I would like to shout out a big Thank you to all my supporters over the last couple of years. Your donations helped me reach my fundraising targets and more importantly, YOU were instrumental in improving the life of an under-privileged CHILD.

I began running in the fall of 2008 with the humble goal of completing at least one long distance race in my life. Little did I know that I would enjoy the experience so much and that running would become an essential part of my life.

Having completed two half marathons, I have taken up the challenge to run my first full marathon, “The Austin Marathon” on the 19th of February 2012. What makes it more exciting is that I run for a purpose. Every dollar I raise goes to fund “Asha Samajik Vidyalaya”, a school for children of socially and economically communities in Reoti, in rural Uttar Pradesh (North India). To learn more about the project, click here.
Asha for Education is a non-profit, non-political and secular voluntary organization dedicated to bringing about socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children.

Knowing that I am helping improve an unfortunate child’s life and future, gives me renewed strength and endurance to work hard and focus on my training. I truly believe that access to education should be a birth right available to all and I am striving to make that a reality in what little way I can. Please join me in my vision and be part of this noble cause by,

  • Contributing to my ASHA page
  • Joining the ASHA team as a runner/volunteer
  • Cheering/Pacing on my race days (10/30/11 Run for Water & 02/19/12 Austin Marathon)

Every dollar counts. No matter how big or small your contribution.

If you are in Austin on the 19th of Feb, do come cheer me at the run. I promise you it will be a lot of fun

NOTE: Donations made to ASHA through the link below are tax-deductible in the US under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code
