Meredith Gleason

Runner

Hello and thank you for visiting my page! I’m Meredith Gleason, a graduate student at the University of Texas. I love reading, cooking, and now… running!

As some of you may know, I am currently training to run the Austin Half Marathon as part of Team Asha. My race takes place on February 19, 2012.

Over the next few months I will be training to do one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But I’m doing this for Team Asha, an organization that seeks to raise money to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged in India. As a literature student, I am passionate about reading and the money raised for Team Asha will help children in India learn to read and further their education. This is an opportunity I cannot pass up… don’t pass up this opportunity to be my sponsor, either!

My goal is to raiseĀ  $750 for Asha for Education. This is a zero-overhead, volunteer-driven organization that directly supports education projects in India in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change.

Because of my passion for education, my interest in India, and my love of books, I am asking for your support. As much as I am running for the children of India, I am also running for my sponsors. Without your support I might not have the strength to make it through half marathon training. But knowing I have your support will push me towards my goal and will keep me focused on the big picture: fundraising for Team Asha and Asha for Education!

Keep up with my life during training on my food blog, An Epic Change (www.anepicchange.com), find a fun recipe, and help me raise my fundraising target!
