I am training to run the 3M Half Marathon as part of Team Asha. My target race is on January 24, 2010, in Austin, Texas.

This is my second year with Team ASHA and my second half marathon. Asha for Education is a non-profit, zero-overhead, volunteer-driven organization that works towards providing education in rural and poor parts of India. The mission & I both believe that education is a critical pre-requisite for socio-economic upliftment. You can read about the various projects supported by Asha Austin on its website.

I am running the half marathon so that I can raise money to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged kids in India. My goal is to raise atleast $100/mile for Asha for Education.

How much your dollar is worth? Soda $0.75, Coffee $1.10, Bagel $0.60, Taco Bell $3.15 — but for just $0.40 a day you can support an underprivileged child’s education. As ASHA is a 100% volunteer driven non-profit organization 100% of your donations reach ASHA partners in India. Asha for Education is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization in the US.
