Hi. Thank you for visiting my page. Firstly, I would like to shout out a big Thank you to everyone who helped me reach my target last year. YOU have helped bring a change in the life of an under-privileged CHILD.
I started off with the goal of running at least one long distance race in my life. My first target race was the Austin Half Marathon 09.. I loved the experience so much that I am back for more. The fact that I was running for a purpose made it all the more worth all the effort I was putting in. Knowing that I was helping improve another person’s life gave me a lot of strength & endurance I truly believe that access to education should be a birth right. Unfortunately, a lot of children in this world do not have this basic right. ASHA supports & pioneers a number of projects that enable education of the lesser privileged. Asha for Education is a non-profit, non-political and secular voluntary organization dedicated to bringing about socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children
This year, I am training to run the Austin Half Marathon on the 14th of Feb 2010 with team ASHA and I have pledged to raise $100/mile. The money I raise is going towards “Asha Samajik Vidyalaya”, a school in Reoti, Uttar Pradesh (North India). This is run by ASHA to educate the children of socially and economically backward communities. To learn more about the project, click here. Support me and be part of this noble cause by donating below. Every dollar counts, no matter how big or small.
You can read about my running experience at my blog & if you are in Austin on the 14th of Feb, do come cheer me at the run. I promise you it will be a lot of fun
NOTE: Donations made to ASHA through the link below are tax-deductible in the US under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code
