Smt. Ram Pyari Bhatia Girl Child Empowerment Program

Asha for Education, Austin Chapter, is grateful and proud to partner with the Bhatia Family, to help educate and empower underprivileged girls in India. “Smt. Ram Pyari Bhatia Girl Child Empowerment Program” has been instituted in 2022 in the memory of Smt. Ram Pyari Bhatia, who migrated to Delhi after partition; raised and educated her four children through financial hardship.

Following Asha Austin projects are supported by grants from this program to benefit 2000+ girls.

  1. Navjyoti’s Kishori Kendra, an adolescent girls vocational training program, based in rural Uttar Pradesh
  2. Antyodoy Anath Ashram, a vocational training program for mainly adolescent girls in rural West Bengal
  3. Garima, a supplemental education program for adolescent girls run by educated young women from the community in rural Chhattisgarh
