As you all know, back in November and December of 2015, Tamil Nadu was hit by torrential rains. The rains resulted in floods in several parts of Tamil Nadu. Cuddalore, a coastal area where most of the Irula families live were also badly affected. Their huts were washed away, goats and cows died. Asha Austin’s fellow Siddamma who works to support the cause of Irula families, approached us and we were able to quickly get them the funds for immediate needs – food, tarpaulin, and bed sheets back in December. Due to fear of snake bites, they also bought some solar lamps to move around in the night. We recently received pictures from Siddamma, so we are sharing these with you too.
